　Beside all details highlighted in the contributions of this special volume, the major conclusion is that we cannot further subdivide basin analysis into the classical disciplines of geosciences. This concept was a major motivation to establish the above mentioned priority programme. Just summing up various results does not help to understand the underlying processes. A continuous interaction of different disciplines is required, whether it is an academic research group or an industrial asset team.』
